Pre-K and Preschool Information and Application

新皇冠体育盘口MNPS currently is accepting Pre-K applications for the 2020-21 school year and applicants will be placed as vacancies occur.


Metro Schools’ early childhood education programs focus on a high-quality, play-based curriculum that supports the development of the whole child and prepares children for kindergarten.

新皇冠体育盘口Our prekindergarten (Pre-K) curriculum is focused on the constructivist approach, which provides diverse learning environments where activities are driven by the students, and teachers encourage and support children to play and explore as a path to learning.

Our Pre-K curriculum focuses on all areas that are important for school success:

Steps to Accept a Pre-K Seat

  1. no later than the deadline on your Pre-K Acceptance Letter (please check your email for the letter).

  2. Complete, sign and upload the Pre-K Acceptance letter with ALL required documentation no later than the deadline on your Pre-K Acceptance Letter. Required Documents can be uploaded into the Income Information section of the application. All documents must be submitted online. Families cannot submit these documents at the school sites during this time of school closing.

  • Complete and Signed Pre-K Acceptance Letter (Take a picture of your complete/signed letter & upload)

To APPLy FOR PRE-K for the 2020-21 school year

First Step
Gather your required documents, which include your child’s birth certificate and proof of residency. The full list of documents can be found on the Metro Schools enrollment page.

Second Step
新皇冠体育盘口Get your Student Identification Number through our new  and follow instructions to upload the required documents.

Required Documents:

  • 新皇冠体育盘口Birth certificate or record of birth

  • Proof of Davidson County residency - utility bill, telephone, lease or homeowner policy

  • Parent/Guardian photo ID (Parent/Guardian must be present)


Third Step
After you have received a student identification number for your child:

  • Complete and submit the online Pre-K Application, which is linked below on the “Apply for Pre-K” button, or

  • Contact an Enrollment Center 新皇冠体育盘口by telephone if you need help.

After submitting the Pre-K application, families will receive instructions about next steps.

Follow the Pre-k application steps above; however, you will need to submit a 2019-20 Pre-K Application at an Enrollment Center.


Preparing for Kindergarten

新皇冠体育盘口To help your child prepare for kindergarten, MNPS has partnered with Alignment Nashville and many other Metro Nashville community organizations to develop iTrails.org, a kindergarten readiness website. iTRAILS is a FREE resource for families and educators that provides kindergarten readiness information and activities.
